Curriculum
The Master of Science (MSc) in Physiotherapy programme is offered by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (UAS Zurich) in cooperation with the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH). The programme is run part-time, allowing students to combine study and work. The programme duration is six semesters, with half the modules offered at the UAS Zurich, located in Winterthur (usually Thursday/Friday) and half at the BFH located in Bern (usually Friday/Saturday).
The first two semesters contain 13 taught modules, run alternately in blocks of approximately 4 weeks at both Universities.
From the second year onwards, the number of taught modules continually reduces and individual time management gains in importance, due to work on the Internships and Master thesis. The student, along with the home University is responsible for the organisation of the internships and the Master Thesis.
The students may also foster their personal areas of interest by means of elective modules.
The time organisation of the first internship (research internship) depends on the institution hosting the internship, as well on the project itself. During the second internship students can choose between a research or a leadership (clinical development) internship.
The students are awarded with the title "Master of Science ZFH in Physiotherapie“* / Master of Science UAS Zurich in Physiotherapy"**.
* ZFH = Zürcher Fachhochschule = ** UAS Zurich = Zurich University of Applied Sciences
