Clinical Majors

The MScN program includes two types of content: core content applicable to Advanced Nursing Practice; and, content focused on a specific Clinical Major as selected by each of the three partnering universities.

 

Core content is offered to all students registered in the MScN program. The location of these classes can be at any one of the three partnering universities.

 

Clinical Major content is offered to students registered at each of the partner universities and is taught at their university site. Site-specific Clinical Major content includes courses addressing Advanced Clinical Assessment, Nursing Interventions & Outcomes, and Self-Management.

 

Clinical Majors: Zurich University of Applied Sciences

  • Acute Hospital-Based Nursing: Care of people who have acute and/or chronic health conditions who are hospitalized in an acute-care hospital.
  • Community-Based Nursing: Care of people living with acute and/or chronic health conditions who live at home.

  • Health Promotion / Disease Prevention and Psycho-social Health
  • Outcome Orientation / Efficiency in Nursing

 

Clinical Major: University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen

  • Nursing of people living with chronic conditions with a special focus on the elderly, and on parent and family education.
